Spanish 3 9-29-08 periods 1 and 2

Next class you will be having your first major vocabulary quiz. This quiz will require you to apply the vocabulary in context, not just recognize the vocabulary. Spanish 3 9-18-08 periods 1 and 2

Tarea: Worksheet packet given in class 9-18-08. For home work all you have to do is complete the first page. Page 7 and 8. The title of the activity of page 7 is Vacaciones inolvidables. The title of page 8 is Actividades al aire libre. Remember that you must answer each question in complete sentences, in Spanish of course. Here are the links to the first 2 pages that you need to complete for next class. They will be graded on accuracy, not just completes. You only need to complete the front side of page one for next class.

Link to page 2 Actividades al aire libre The picture on question 1 is esquí acuático water ski. The picture on question 2 is surf de vela- wind-surfing. For questions 1 and 2 use the verb hacer. The picture for question 3 is cortar el dedo- to cut the finger. Conjugate the verb cortar in the preterit. The verb for number 4 is jugar. The verb for number 5 is caerse. The verb for number 6 is ir de pescar to go fishing. Make sure you conjugate all verbs in the preterit.

Also make sure you can conjugate and can tell me the English translations of all the verbs below by next class. Remember they are verbs that change from I-Y in the 3rd person singular and plural or the él, ella, Ud. forms as well as the ellos, ellas, Uds. forms.

El pretérito de verbos con el cambio ortográfico i → y

Verbs ending in -uir, such as destruir, have a spelling change in the preterite. The i becomes y in the Ud. / él / ella and Uds. / ellos / ellas forms.

Note that the i is only accented in the yo form.

Today we took are first test. If you were absent please make sure that you make up the test as soon as possible. There will not be any homework for tonight. We will begin chapter 1 next class.

I will post the beginnings of the new vocabulary on Conjuguemos today at about 2:00pm. If you would like to get started memorizing the new vocabulary you can always do conjuguemos.

We will be studying the preterit in chapter 1.
