Today in class 9-4-09

To day in class we reviewed the 3 irregular verbs in the imperfect tense. They are ir, ser, and ver. Make sure you memorize these irregular verbs. I also gave you a personal input assignment for page 18 of your interactive notebook. You are to create a dialouge between you and a grandparent where you ask the grandparent about their past using the imperfect tense. The grandparent will then answer your question using the appropriate imperfect tense as well. You must have a total of 10 lines. Here is an example of what to do! Use the following as an example do not copy word for word. Remember that each verb in brackets needs to be conjugated in the imperfect tense. As well, your verbs need to be conjugated in the imperfect tense as well.

B. Complete the following exchanges between a boy and his grandmother. Use the
imperfect form of the verb in parentheses. Follow the model.
Modelo NIETO: Abuelita, ¿tú y tus hermanos iban a la escuela todos los días?
ABUELA: Claro, nosotros (ir) a la escuela todos los días.

1. NIETO: Oye Abuelita, ¿mi mamá era muy traviesa de niña?
ABUELA: ¡Sí, tu mamá (ser) muy traviesa!

2. NIETO: ¿Ustedes veían los videos en casa?

The imperfect tense: regular verbs (p. 194)
• The imperfect tense is used to talk about actions that happened repeatedly in thepast.
Rafael caminaba y Ramiro corría en el parque.
Rafael used to walk and Ramiro used to run in the park.
• Here are the regular forms of -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in the imperfect tense:

jugar hacer vivir
yo jugaba hacía vivía
